Report: Marve, others granted immunity to be NCAA informants

CORAL GABLES — Wonder why Robert Marve and Arthur Brown — former UM players who’ve since transferred — and former UM recruits Bryce Brown, Matt Patchan, Orson Charles and Andre Debose were cleared by the NCAA so quickly after former booster Nevin Shapiro implicated them, yet the 12 current ‘Canes named in the Yahoo! Sports report haven’t been cleared?

Marcos Ambrose wins Watkins Glen shootout

By Mike Shaner:

Marcos Ambrose earned his first Sprint Cup victory today at Watkins Glen. The race was postponed from Sunday due to rain and was well worth the wait. It had the feeling and excitement of an old western shoot-out.  This is exactly what NASCAR needs. Look for more on this later, after I've had a chance to catch my breath!

Ricky Stenhouse shows Carl Edwards how it's done in Iowa

Mike Shaner
August 6, 2011

Ricky Stenhouse won a wild one in Iowa tonight. His engine blew in the final turn of the final lap and his teammate/rival Carl Edwards crashed into his rear bumper, propelling Stenhouse to his 2nd career victory.

In his post race inter view, Edwards said that Stenhouse was "over agressive."  Stenhouse replied, "Yea, I was agressive. I wasn't going to back down."

Perhaps Carl Edwards should take a lesson from Stenhouse, 2nd is the first loser. I enjoy his aggression. This type of driving is exactly what NASCAR needs.
